6 Fashion Bloggers Whose Style I Love

Back when I started this blog I’d never read a blog in my life.

In fact, until the day I started it I didn’t really know what a blog was. It was 2008 and blogs had just never really entered my sphere of reference before. Then I went unexpectedly self-employed and while looking for ways to promote my eBay shop I found someone suggesting that blogging was a good way to get yourself out there.

I’ve never been one to hang about and actually PLAN anything, so with about 10 minutes research I had set up a blogger account and published my first blog post.

Since that fateful day, I’ve gone from my 20s into my 30s and skating perilously fast towards my 40s. My life, style and passions have changed over time, and my blog has changed with me. It’s a bit of a living record of all the versions of me I’ve been in the last 9 years.

As I have changed, so have the blogs I read regularly. Many of the style bloggers I followed avidly back in the old days are either defunct (The Coveted), no longer updated at all (Dramatis Personae), or updated far less often (Diary of a Vintage Girl).

So today I thought I’d share 6 of my current favourite style bloggers that are still out there, making me shop, inspiring my outfits and making me wish my own photography was a darn sight better. Maybe some of these are already favourites of yours (after me, obvs), or maybe you’ll find a new (second) favourite blogger!

(I hope none of you mind me using your photos, if you do please just let me know!)

CiCi Marie

CiCi Marie has a super cute vintage inspired style. She frequently has me lusting over novelty prints and has a collection of shoes and handbags that makes me green with envy.

Finding Femme

Liana is an Australian blogger, with a sleek and elegant vintage style. She mixes vintage and modern in a way that never looks costumey.

Plus I always love reading Australian blogs because I never cease to find it astonishing that our seasons are all different. LOOK! It’s nearly spring in Australia and nearly autumn here! Amazing!

Finding Femme

Forever Amber

Amber is a Scottish style blogger with whom I share an affinity for stripes and vintage inspired high street looks, but there the similarity ends. Amber has a far cleaner house and a grown up, classicly elegant style that I used to wish I had many years ago, before I realised that I have an addiction to novelty prints and silly brooches and I really don’t like dusting much.

She also has an amazing shoe collection and an enviable walk in wardrobe.

Style Pantry

I have no words for how amazing this woman always looks. I swear everything she wears must be individually tailored to fit perfectly. Folake is a working mother of 3, thus making me feel incredibly bad as the only person I ever have to look after is myself and yet I will still never look this awesome.

Suzanne Carillo

Whenever I wear something I’ve found in a Charity Shop, at some point someone will invariably say “Oh, I never find anything in Charity Shops”. One of the reasons I started to love charity or thrift shopping is because I loved finding those things that other people would just pass over and putting them together into an interesting outfit. So many people pass by amazing items just because they’re not perfectly presented as they are on the High Street.

Suzanne Carillo is a 40+ style blogger who would totally fight me for those unexpected thrift shop bargains. She puts pieces together in an imaginative and creative way and always looks amazing.

Zella Maybe

Last, but not least, (I went with alphabetical order!) is Zella Maybe. Jessica is a US based blogger with an eclectic vintage style that incorporates any decade you can reasonably call vintage.

Her style is gorgeous, unique and relatable. I love how she plays around with eras and styles and mixes things up.

Diary of a Vintage Girl was my jam back in the day!

This was one of those moments where I was like ‘OMG! That’s ME!’

Thanks so much for your lovely words and for recommending me. It’s such a humbling experience to know that a blogger out there like you that I greatly admire and respect sees me and looks at my pictures. You are so wonderful, Gemma! Thanks for sharing

      No problem 😀 xxx

Wow, thank you! I really appreciate the shout out, and I love the other bloggers that you featured as well. I hadn’t heard of a few of them, but I’ll definitely have to check out the ones that are new to me, like Style Pantry.

I’m familiar with the fabulous Suzanne Carillo. But wasn’t aware of these other bloggers who do such justice to vintage looks. Thanks for featuring them. Looking forward to checking them out 🙂

Great to see the fabulous Suzanne in there! Not only does she have phenomenal style but she’s got a wicked sense of humour and never takes herself too seriously, she’s the kind of person I’d have an absolute riot with in real life. x

I don’t tend to follow any pure style bloggers, though I do find both Vix (http://vintagevixon.blogspot.co.uk) and Goody (http://eattheblog.blogspot.co.uk/) inspirational because they march to their own drums. They make me braver about allowing my own taste to find an outlet. Vix finds the most amazing vintage in charity shops, and Goody’s accessorising game is second to none. Plus a lot of younger bloggers dress in ways I can’t, so in the end I don’t find their blogs inspiring as there’s not much I can take away from them aside from a sense of gloom at ageing!

I know, Vix, but not Goody.
Some of these maybe aren’t “pure” style bloggers, but then most people aren’t really unless ALL they post is outfits!

Gemma, most of these are bloggers I not only follow, but have forged online friendships with. So of course I wholeheartedly approve!! But missing from my list was Style Pantry. How did I miss that one?! Off to check it out now. Xx

Ah, I’m so flattered to be included amongst such great company, but I’m even more flattered that you described my style as “grown up”, because I never actually feel like that! So thank you ?

Ha ha! I don’t think anyone ever does 😀

Forever Amber and Style Pantry are both favourites of mine too, so given we obviously have exactly the same wonderful taste in bloggers, I’m off to check out your other recommendations too because I’m not familiar with the others. X

I’m honoured to be featured here among these other lovely ladies – all but one I’m already an avid reader of 🙂 I love Harlow Darling, if you want to feel like your photography is truly lacking check her posts out, seriously. She sells me every outfit just by how beautiful they look among the scenery let alone anything else! And every other blogger has fallen out of my head entirely, I’m going to blame the heat!!

Oh yes! I love Harlow Darling!

Oh wow these are all new bloggers to me! I’ll have to check them out!

What a lovely surprise to be featured here amongst some other gals that I adore!

    This really made my day.

I’m fond of Vintage Vixen. She lives, breathes and loves vintage like no other.

Now I’m off to discover some new ladies you’ve introduced me to.

    bisous

Yes! This babe is one of my favourites.
