Hey there. Howās things? Itās tough at the moment right?
Well, just remember, weāre still in the middle of a global pandemic, itās ok to find stuff hard occasionally even if the world looks like itās returning to normal a bit, and, most importantly, youāre not alone.
My Sunday started with a long run, which was rubbish, but I did it, so yay me! This evening I have a mini beer festival over Zoom, but for the bit in between I plan to do a lot of lounging.
But first, this week I…..
Went Back to Work
Well, sort of. The Government announcement that Personal Trainers could now see clients in public parks as long as the sessions were socially distanced meant that from this week Iāve started offering that as an option to my clients.
Not everyone wanted to take up the offer just yet, but this week I went back to work and spent a socially distanced hour with the first people outside of my house Iād seen for more than 5 minutes since March.
How exciting!
Forgot to Lock my Front Door
Annoyingly we have one of those front doors that you have to lock with a key on the way in and the way out.
On the plus side it means that I will never lock myself out of the house (or get stuck between 2 doors, one of which locks with a key and the other automatically like I did once about 15 years ago). On the down side it means that I have to remember to lock the door.
We leave a key by the door, but sometimes if Iāve been in and out putting things in the bin, or if one of us has gone out while the other is still in the house the door doesnāt get locked for a bit.
Which was presumably what had happened when I was sat minding my own business on the sofa on Wednesday and a bloke suddenly let himself in my front door.
He was a middle aged guy in overalls and he was on the phone, he stared at me with a slightly confused look, but didnāt immediately leave and actually took an extra step inside the house before I stood up and asked him to leave at which point he said āsorry wrong doorā and backed out.
The door is now locked.
Had Cocktails
By Friday we felt we deserved a treat, so we ordered a box of Cocktails from Arboretum Norwich, plus another box for my Mum & Dad in Kent (yes, they deliver Nationwide!) so that we could meet up for virtual Cocktails over Zoom.
With my parents being so far away I donāt get to see them often, Iām grateful that I saw them in February just before the Apocalypse happened, but Iām very sad to have missed my planned birthday visit in May. Mr LLL is in a similar position having had to cancel a late March trip to see his Parents.
We donāt know when weāll be able to safely hug our families again, but itās nice to be able to meet up for virtual Cocktails!
Ate a Home Made Dinner
On Saturday afternoon we had another Zoom call to play silly games with a friend of ours. At some point during the call burgers were mentioned, and I then desperately wanted a burger.
I am deeply proud that instead of succumbing to the lure of Deliveroo we instead braved the local Co-Op for ingredients and I made goats cheese and red onion burgers from scratch AND home made chips, which we washed down with a bottle of wine made from grapes grown in our garden.
This is just about the smuggest dinner ever.
Reached Half Way
My #12in12 challenge for June is to complete 100k in a month. Itās definitely been a while since I ran that far in a month. I might have done it maybe once at the peak of my Half Marathon training, but itās definitely still a challenge for me.
This morning I ran 7.28 really rubbish, hot and sticky miles, which has taken me to the halfway point of the challenge right on schedule. Whoop!
Then I tried to take some āaction shotsā with my phone timer with limited success!
And that was yet another exciting week in my lockdown life.
Iām still hoping that one day Iāll be able to look back on these and remember the days that my Pilates classes happened over Zoom and I was too scared to pop to Co-Op for snacks with a wondering shake of the head.
Fingers crossed.
How was your week?
