Well, mostly black. This Laura Ashley dress has a block of coral colour and great wide shoulder straps that meet in the centre back.

I’m in love with it, but as it’s slightly too small (you can probably see it pulling a bit on my hips, if you can’t then don’t look…) I’m letting it go and you can buy it in my store. I’m also on a bit of a pre Christmas health kick, so if you want it you better get it now as I’ve promised myself that if it’s not sold by Christmas and I’ve lost some weight it’s going straight back into my wardrobe.

I wore it out to celebrate the fact that this weekend it was 2 years to the day that I finally walked out of my job to be Retro Chick full time.

2 1/2 years ago I was working for a company with the worst boss I’ve ever come across. The only way I’ve ever been able to express how awful she was to work for is to point people in the direction of the The Devil Wears Prada. Like that, but without the benefit of free clothes and trips to Paris.

Well, the advantage of working for such a terrible woman is that 2 years ago she finally pushed me far enough that I was finally willing to give up the security of a regular wage packet to spend my time buying clothes and selling them on eBay. Another 5 months after that, I started writing a blog, and I’ve been wittering on in public ever since.

The only thing I’ve ever missed about a regular job is a guaranteed wage packet. Despite the impact on my mental health I’m grateful that I finally got pushed to the point where I would walk out of a job a month before Christmas. If you’d told me 18 months ago I’d be going to London Fashion Week I would probably have pitied you for your soft and spongy brain.

But if no one read my witterings then I’d never have done these things and I’d probably be off looking for a new and slightly less evil boss to work for. So thank you for reading. Whether you are dropping by as a one off, you read the occasional post or you read every word I write avidly. I appreciate every second you spend here, every comment you leave and every click on my ads and sponsors.

So this is for you….

So lets all give a big HURRAH! for evil bosses, for striking out on your own and for dresses that hopefully won’t sell before Christmas…..
