Tomorrow is my birthday.
I will be 31. I am immensely lucky in that around my birthday every year falls the Norfolk and Norwich Festival. It’s like they organise it just for me. There are various free events and art installations around town. Including neon signs and a huge red ball (it’s better than it sounds, really!). But others require a small fee for tickets.
On Monday night I went to the see Les 7 doigts de la Main perform their circus show La Vie. It was dark and beautiful. Featuring contortionists, acrobats and other circus skills all set in an amazing show about life, death, love and insanity.
They’re at the Spiegel tent till the 17th and if you get a chance to see them you really should. If I could afford it I’d go again.
(P.S this video isn’t mine, but looking at the background it appears it WAS filmed in the Spiegel tent, where I saw them, possibly at last years festival?)
Heading out that evening, it was cold and had just stopped raining. So I slung on an old favourite, that it occurs to me has never popped up in an outfit post before. It’s a black jersey Marks & Spencer dress, that I bought on eBay about 2 years ago. It’s comfortable, yet smart, and I am seriously worried about the hole it will leave in my wardrobe if it ever gives up the ghost.
The necklace I wore on Friday last week came out again, as it seemed appropriate for a trip to the Circus. Unfortunately one of the bar staff remembered it from when I was there on Friday, which will teach me to repeat bits of my outfit so soon!

Tonight is the ever wonderful BoNanafana at the Spiegel Tent, and I will be wearing my Bladerunner inspired outfit.
Maybe I’ll pop in tomorrow and show it to you, if I’m not too busy eating cake.
