Well, what a Bank Holiday weekend!

Just over a week ago I was drinking Pimms by the river and now it’s all rain coats and sniffly colds. Though I’ve managed to avoid having to dig the black opaques back out of the cupboard so far.

❤ Dress & Trench - Vintage ❤ Feather Hair Comb- Abilu Creations ❤
 ❤ Shoes - Clarks via eBay ❤ Belt - Vintage ❤

I didn’t mind too much, as the weirdness of the weather this year, going straight from Arctic to Tropical temperatures, has meant I haven’t had much of a chance to wear “transitional” stuff, like my favourite trench, and dresses with sleeves.

The feather hair comb is from AbiLu Creations and was a (successful, if the gushing compliments of 2 women in Paperchase are anything to go by) attempt to add some interest to a boring pony tail as I just wanted to stop the wind covering my face with hair.

The shoes are about 2 weeks old (to me), they’re Clarks and they have prompted me to make myself a promise. Now I am in my *cough* thirties *cough* there are 2 things I will not skimp on. Shoes and underwear.

These are the first pair of shoes from Clarks I have owned since the whole “magic shoes” thing when I was a kid. They are, horror of horrors, COMFORTABLE! They have little padded bits in the soles. They are a revelation and I promise never to squidge my poor feet into ill fitting plastic shoes again (well, almost never, anyway)

Hopefully the weather is due to improve for this weekend (though a little bit of collective positive thinking wouldn’t go amiss…) but this weekend, when I had planned lazy days in the park, I was reduced to  sheltering in a cafe from the rain, and eating obligatory cake.

I also saw a tiny sticky man on the ceiling of my local shopping centre, which made me very happy, so I thought you might like to see him too.

While I’m here I’m here I just want to thank my Twitter followers, and, most particularly, my Facebook Fans for joining in and helping me out with my mission to keep the lovely Melanie Armsden in the top 12 of the Pin Up for Heroes calendar. It looks like she made it, but I’ll let you know when the proper results are announced!
