Frankly it feels a bit weird writing this today.

Yesterdays blazing sunshine has given way to grey skies and curl dampening downpours of the kind I had almost forgotten existed in the tropical paradise England seemed to have become.

Yesterday, however, was glorious, and I headed off to pay a visit to the Norwich Lanes Summer Fayre. The entire lanes area had been taken over with bands and poetry in pubs and outdoors, graffiti artists and stalls selling food and goodies from shops in the area. There were vintage clothes, accessories, handmade home wares and cupcakes. There were even some lovely deck chairs set up to rest your weary legs and enjoy the atmosphere.

Cool and comfortable is pretty much a priority for everyone when the weather gets so hot, so I pulled my Lady K Loves sailor dress out of the wardrobe.

Now to the title of this post, which in all probability hasn’t made much sense up to now.  You’ve seen this dress before. All dressed up with a petticoat and heels in February. Is this wardrobe remixing? I don’t know, but it proves that dresses can be versatile and do double duty for day and evening. Swapping the heels for Keds and taking off the petticoat makes it perfect for summer days.

I just wanted my hair away from my face, so victory rolls at the front and a hair rat rolled up at the back did the job nicely. Never one to pass up a chance to theme an outfit I also added the nautical necklace that Plume Lifestyle sent me last month. The Plume Lifestyle website has an adorable range of super cheap jewellery that’s just perfect for theming up an outfit. It’s not going to be a family heirloom, but at £3.45 for a necklace, who cares?!

You’ll have to excuse my hot, tired and frazzled face in this photo, but it really was VERY hot and my make up pretty much slid straight down my face. Fortunately it was dark in the pub where it was taken so you’re spared the worst ravages, but I wanted to get a close up of the necklace.

In other news I have all my limbs crossed for nicer weather this weekend as I managed to find a lovely floral frock for the Chap Olympics in a Charity Shop on Saturday which will look rather out of place in the rain. I also acquired yet more vintage china at the Arminghall Boot Fair this weekend, as ever Facebook Fans got a peek on Sunday so if you’re nosey you can go on over and have a look!
