Today I should be gallivanting off to London to have brunch with Hendricks Gin (I am unsure if there will be breakfast cocktails, but there is croquet and a penny farthing apparently)

While I’m gone I thought I’d leave you with some pictures of pants to look at. Pandoras Choice is a new sponsor for Retro Chick and they have just a huge selection of retro and vintage style lingerie. I always need practical things like sensible 6 strap suspender belts, sensible bras and knickers and the like, but I like to remind myself occasionally that lingerie can be completely pointless, frivolous and probably not designed for wear under actual clothes.

So I had a trawl through the Pandoras Choice website and picked out some fancy pants that are most definitely NOT practical.

Bottomless French Knickers £39.99

They won’t keep you warm and you’ll have trouble squeezing that bow into skinny jeans, but damn they’re sexy.

Fab if you’re a burlesque performer, or if you fancy yourself as one then sneak them out in your handbag and change into them later….

Harlow French Knickers £32

I suppose these COULD be almost practical. They’re close fitting enough to go under clothes, but once the clothes are off they look impractical. Made to a 1940s pattern with a press stud waist fastening and a slightly elasticated back for a good fit.

White Satin Cami Knickers £19.99

I love the deep lace trim on these, they’re probably not going to give you a nice clean line under a jersey dress, but they look good.

White Lace Trim Cami Knickers £19.99

Black Frilly Knickers £15

This is possibly my favourite type of completely impractical knicker! I suppose you could wear them under a full 50s style skirt, but unless you have the flattest of bottoms I’d say a pencil skirt was a no no.

Black Frilly 50s Knicker £15

Bloomers £28.99

Seriously, proper victorian style bloomers. This is a shop that is THOROUGH in it’s stock!

White Bloomers £28.99
