Festive Discounts and other Goodies

Do you remember all those lovely independent shops when you do your Christmas Shopping?

You really should. This is exactly the time of year when you should support independent shops locally and online, and it’s not just the big shops that have special offers to make your shopping a little easier.

Today I’ve rounded up some that I know about. Feel free to include others in the comments!

Abilu Creations , purveyor of delicious vintage inspired jewellery and accessories, is offering free postage on all your Christmas shopping using the code SNOWPOST

Poppy Valentine, creator of gorgeous vintage designs using vintage fabrics, is offering 10% off everything till 19th December using code SANTA

Free Shipping on one off and limited edition beautiful designer goodies until New Years Eve at Swelle Boutique

You can buy 3 pairs of retro seamed stockings, in black or nude for just Ā£10 What Katie Did. This offer isn’t available on the main site, only through this link!

10% off until Monday at Swings & Pretty using code CHRISTMAS, buy some beautiful gifts and accessories.

Free postage on handmade and crafty goodies when you spend over Ā£20 at Cherry Cherry using the code CHRISTMAS

This is also exactly the time of year when it’s nice to get stuff free. As well as entering my Christmas Stocking Competition you can also head on over to Yesterday Girl who is running a competition with fabulous shop Notorious Kitsch to win a Ā£50 voucher to spend on whatever you like.

If you don’t have your decorations up yet then head on over to my eBay shop as I have 17 different designs of these lovely traditional handmade hearts to hang on your tree. At under Ā£5 they make lovely little stocking fillers too.

If you’re signed up to my newsletter then you should have had some of these come through in yesterdays newsletter. If you’re not signed up to the newsletter then you can have a look through the archives and sign up on the Newsletter page. It goes out roughly whenever I feel like it, which seems to be about every other month, and as well as having links to seasonally appropriate blog posts and any other exciting news I have to share, I also fill the sidebar up with as many goodies as I can find. Discounts, competitions, upcoming events, new shop listings, that kind of stuff!

Sorry for the brief and link filled post today, but I hope some of it’s use!

I’ll leave you with this, because it’s Christmas.

Thank you for this. Not only do I like to support independent boutiques, I enjoy the shopping experience better. It’s less overwhelming due to well-edited selection and smaller square footage. Also more personal customer service–you are often dealing with the store owner/buyer herself!

How wonderful! Can I use the Poppy Valentine discount in ‘real life’ (I’m visiting Naarch on the 18th)…otherwise I might have to try on then nip to a pub with wi-fi and get my Xmas discount!!

BTW- have you any hot tips for men’s vintage in Norwich? His Lordship wants to shop too. šŸ˜‰

If you follow Poppy Valentine on Twitter you get a 10% discount in store! She’s here if you’re not already following! http://twitter.com/poppyvalentine/

Hmm, Mens vintage. Prim Vintage on St Benedicts Street has a mens section downstairs that’s always worth a look! And you should always check out the big antique market that used to be Looses on Magadalen Street!

Hahaha, thanks for the laughs with you as a Xmas elf, you’re too cute and too funny! And I’ve gone all festive now, even after I had a rant at the festive period shopping over at my site.

Xmas shopping may be a nightmare, but in little independent stores it’s different. Not only can you find some truly beautiful gems of gifts, but it feels more special and can actually mean something. I’ve done it with several of my gifts, purposely ignoring the big retailer and getting it from the interdependent store. I don’t even check to see if it’s more expensive or not, it felt right and it’s more than just shopping.

We really must support local business as much as we can, and this time of the year more than ever. Great post Gemma!

I agree, it’s such a different experience generally than running around Debenhams in a panic!
