Happy Christmas Eve Eve!

Whee! I love Christmas, and it starts at lunch time on Christmas Eve as far as I’m concerned.

From tomorrow onwards it’s all self indulgence, soppy Christmas movies, drinking, eating and relaxation.

I’m kicking off the fun with a trip to Cinema City to watch It’s a Wonderful Life on the big screen, then I imagine there’ll be mince pies and an open fire and mulled wine.

Earlier this week I was lucky enough to be in Birmingham while their German Christmas Market was on, so I’m all stocked up on weird flavoured marshmallows and ginormous tankards to drink mulled wine from. Here I am, looking cold with some warming gluhwein.

Mr Chicks parents are in Scotland, and mine work Christmas Day, so Christmas Day for us is a day of glorious laziness. We watch terrible Christmas TV, drink random Christmas drinks (Baileys & Tia Maria in the same glass anyone?) eat as much food as we can fit in and maybe go for a little light walk late afternoon before Doctor Who.

How do you spend your Christmas Day?

Is it like an American film with 4 generations all gathered together for an elaborate Christmas lunch? Do you order Indian Takeaways and watch Eastenders? Or do you not celebrate Christmas, and therefore 25th December is merely an irritating blip in your ability to receive mail in a timely fashion and pop to the shop for a pint of milk?

However you celebrate I hope you all have a fabulous weekend, and I’ll see you you back here when you get bored later on. There’s years worth of old posts to go through…..

I always celebrate Christmas in the same way: mass on Christmas Eve, late-night drinks with my family, early morning pressie opening with my nana, breakfast with my bestie, lunch with all the family, trifle for afternoon tea with my beloved and then a movie and ham sandwiches with my dad. Lovely.

Merry Christmas! our favorite christmas drink is Christmas Jones – This sweet highball drink begins with a blend of strawberries, pineapple and vodka and is topped with lemon-lime soda for a refreshing holiday cocktail. It’s topped with a mint garnish that adds a little cheer to the final presentation and is a great all-around holiday drink for two.

    is that almost a b52?

Christmas will be spent encased in pink plastic and toys that make noises designed to send parents insane. I will love every minute of it.

I’ve always enjoyed home made Bailey’s

My favourite christmas tipple is brandy and baileys 🙂 and this year, I’m round at my parents for Christmas dinner.

And I’m glad you enjoyed the Christmas market in Birmingham…as a born and bred Brummie, its very pleasing to see other people enjoying visiting Brumagem.

    Happy Christmas!

Oh I do love a good Deutsches Markt!

We tend to just have one side of the family over, but either one the house is rammed full! My aunt is Norwegian so she always brings some European treats over and we generally just eat and drink the day away.

Last year, I spent Christmas driving all over creation visiting everyone because my mother-in-law HAD to see her son on the day so we might as well go visit everybody else anyways. This year, we’re doing Christmas a bit more my style and staying at home (except to go to church) and doing family Christmases before and after the actual day. I’m not sure what kind of holiday beverages we’ll come up with but I do love a glass of warm apple cider with a bit of something extra.

As I have a kidling my xmas is usually full of toys etc….however he’s now entered surly teens so I’m not sure what’ll happen! LOL!

It’s ok tho, I have Babycham, sloe gin, Pimms and vodka to choose from!!

Happy Christmas to you and yours!

Mmmm, tia maria and baileys … does it taste like a chocolate orange?

I’ve been avoiding Doctor Who for the last couple of years, but if the family are up for watching I might just indulge this year, I’m told it’s going to be a good one!

Merry Christmas! Our favourite Christmas drink is Jovial Monk – a mixture of gin, dry martini and apricot brandy.
