And I’m very, very tired.
Returning to work after holidays has a disturbing tendency to have that effect. I’ve been on “holiday” for 2 weeks, though it was somewhat higgledy piggledy as holidays go. I spent 2 days in our muddy woodland, 3 nights in a deeply glamorous caravan on the south coast, 1 night in Brighton, returned to Norwich for 5 nights and even did a days work, then spent the last 3 nights of the holiday in Kent.
I must say massive thanks to Betsy Hatter, Simon Pritchard, Lili La Scala, Susie Q and The Fabulous Miss K for writing guest posts for me to keep you entertained while I was away!
I’ve ruined a pair of Keds (not designed for a 9 mile hike through woodland after a month of solid rain, or so it turns out), drunk an awful lot of Manhattans, eaten yummy seafood, run away from a dinosaur, eaten a lot of blue cheese and met an ex Land Girl in the best country pub ever.
Some of those things bear closer attention later this week. But in the meantime I’ll leave you with a few random assorted photos from the last 2 weeks.
Week One. Caravans, Country walks and the Hurly Burly Wedding Fair in Brighton. One of these pictures is me in JEANS. This is a rare occurence and my only pair had fallen to pieces so I had to buy them specially. The weather in May is normally glorious and I’d expected to be able to spend the week skipping through sunny fields in a cotton summer frock. Biblical downpours required a last minute panic adjustment to my wardrobe plans.
Week Two. Less mud, more cocktails. My birthday, a photoshoot, an awful lot of seafood, an amazing pub and a video of a terrifying dinosaur. Plus I finally got my hands on some of the whisky I won in a competition last September and took some to my Grampys memorial.
And lastly, that dinosaur……
