Navy, Yellow and Dogtooth Check

I’m very much enjoying seeing the sunshine.

On Saturday I braved the world with no tights, but rapidly realised that the sun was beautiful, but the breeze was cold and I returned to covered legs. Hopefully not for long!

OUTFIT2

The broderie anglaise blouse was sent to me by Boden as part of a spring campaign. I never think to shop at Boden, I think it’s not really my style, so this blouse is a reminder to keep your mind open when looking for clothes on the High Street. At first it wasn’t a very nice fit when I wore it just tucked in, but tied at the front it sits much nicer, and for once isn’t too tight on my arms.

It has a cute peter pan collar which looks great teamed with this necklace which is adapted from a vintage brooch that has lost it’s pin. It was sent to me by Sarah Haynes who makes lovely conflict free jewellery and arrived on the same day as the blouse, so it was fate that I had to wear them together, obviously.

I also managed to find amongst the still unpacked boxes in my house a pair of sunglasses that I bought last year at Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fair, and as yet have only worn once. They’re a bit different from my normal style, but it’s nice to have a change every now and then.

My weekend, largely involved trawling the charity shops of Kent, which turned up some super bargains, including a skirt and jumper for just Ā£1 each to be shared soon I’m sure, and watching the London Marathon on TV. I also had my sister, who is a nail technician (find her here!), paint me her first ever vintage style moonicure with shellac polish, which should hopefully last me at least 2 weeks without chipping. It’s amazing stuff, I’m considering investing in the kit myself as Kent is a long way to go for a manicure!

I love your outfit! Navy looks great on you. I just started following your blog after hearing Kim (from What Peggy Said) say that you were one of the people who inspired her to start blogging. I love your style, and your blog. It’s so nice to stumble across a new blog that you love xx

You can beat a vintage brooch to highlight an outfit! You are definitely a good bargain hunter Gemma
