A Day At The Beach

It feels like forever since I saw the sun.

The weekend just gone was totally glorious and I relished every second of it. After Glyndebourne we treated ourselves to an extra night at the seaside in Brighton, and on Saturday morning I followed my own best tips for keeping cool, put on my best crease proof poly cotton summer blouse, put my hair in an up do (which is super quick and only took 10 minutes!) and headed to the beach.

It really was the most perfect day for the beach. And we weren’t the only ones to think so as it was packed!

We had fish and chips for lunch on the beach. Narrowly avoiding being attacked by seagulls.

Then I found an ice cream stall. Since I was wearing a blouse with ice creams on it, I decided I had to have ice cream (any excuse). Honey and Ginger, from the Pump House, which is apparently world famous, but I’ve never heard of it, so presumably not in my bit of the world.

Sadly, it was only 2 days later I found these beauties from Vicious and Smash on their stall at the Norwich Lanes Summer Fayre. How perfect will they be with my blouse?! I might now need an ice cream necklace, earrings and handbag to go with it. Never let it be said I turned down the opportunity to theme an outfit!

Perfect! Fish and chips at the beach is the best and your outfit is super cute.

I’ve seen pictures of English beaches and I’ve only visited one in Brighton many many years ago in winter but… the pebbly beaches are so different to what we have here in Australia!

  2. Love the outfit, the hair – and love Brighton!!! Their vintage scene has swept me away and I am reporting from there on a regular basis now. I hope you checked out the Blackbird and their amazing cream tea 😀
