Ok, so I’m going to level with you here.
I didn’t get up on Christmas Morning, get dressed, take outfit photos and then spend 2 hours editing them and writing a blog post. I took the photos on Christmas Eve, and this is a scheduled post. So if you’re reading this on your new tablet or laptop.
HAPPY CHRISTMAS!
I thought, hey, wouldn’t it be nice to take the last few photos outside, seeing as it’s Christmas and the last day of my Christmas outfits challenge. But sadly the balmy calm sunny weather Norwich has been basking in for the last week or so had been replaced by a force nine gale.
So, er, here’s some outfit photos in front of my fireplace!
I’ve been planning this as my Christmas Day outfit since early December when I spotted this skirt on ChicWish. Apparently I am the only person in the world who hadn’t heard of Chicwish, so I didn’t realise at first it was coming from China, so I then spent the rest of December obsessively watching the tracking hoping it would arrive in time.
It did, obviously, and I am HUGELY impressed with the quality, and the shipping, which was exactly 8 business days, when it promised 8-12, not bad at Christmas! I went for all green and gold, in my fancy shoes, a gold cropped jacket I bought from a Charity Shop and a Glitter hair bow that was a Christmas present from my Derby Wife Wild Honey.
I’ve always dressed up on Christmas Day, even if I’m not leaving the house and it’s just me and Mr Chick at home. We always did when I was little and I’ve carried it on as a grown up. The schedule sort of goes:
Eat Breakfast and open presents in pyjamas.
Put on fancy Christmas outfit and sit around watching TV and drinking Bucks Fizz.
Eat Christmas Lunch
Decide fancy Christmas Outfit is far too tight now and change back into pyjamas.
So I guess it maybe gets worn for about 4 hours, but it’s absolutely worth it. Now we’re all grown up Mr Chick and I sometimes even go the pub for a bit on Christmas Day, so other people actually get to see the Christmas Outfit without me having to post it on the internet.
I hope you are having/had a completely AMAZING Christmas Day, filled with twinkly lights, fizzy wine and sparkling conversation.
See you soon!
