I am little in Lover with Sherlock Holmes. It seems I have a “thing” for emotionally detached men…

I’m not sure that I have a favourite as I am always discovering new ones but my favourite vintage crime authors would have to be Agatha Christie and Gladys Mitchell.

This e-reader cover is just perfect! I am currently reading all the Sherlock Holmes books on my new kindle.
But I must say, my all times favorite stays Agatha Christie. Her characters are fascinating are she always manage to manipulate the reader into suspecting the wrong character.

It isn’t original, but I love Agatha Christie. In fact I’ve been collecting the old pulp editions!

Crime is one of my favourite genres. At the moment I love Boris Akunin (translated Russian historical crime) and as an all time favourite Sherlock Holmes or perhaps Colin Dexter. I prefer Agatha Christie as screen adaptation (philistine that I am).

I’m a PhD researcher in crime fiction, so it feels a bit unfair to pick just one book or author, but… I really love Tess Gerritsen

I have several ‘favourites’ – my childhood favourites were Nancy Drew and Sherlock Holmes, then I discovered Agatha Christie, Dick Francis, Ruth Rendell, Minette Walters, Phil Rickman. So my favourite depends on what kind of mood I’m in – currently in a Phil Rickman phase x

OOh I love this cover. Not normally too much of a crime reader but I did love The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo book and the rest in the series!

I usually gravitate toward mysteries set in Great Britain so have a number of favorite crime fiction authors. However, I believe the pioneers of this genre – Christie, Sayers, Doyle and Marsh – are my favorites! πŸ™‚

I love Ian Fleming’s James Bond books, not the best film but I think The Man With The Golden Gun was his best book

  11. says: Nicola Lester

Arthur Conan Doyle. I love that his books are free on Kindle, so I have been able to rediscover and enjoy these old gems.

This is going to sound VERY silly. But my heart will always belong to Gertrude Chandler Warner, author of The Boxcar Children. My first mysteries, and always my favorite! I can’t wait to introduce my children to the series someday <3

My favourites have to be Poirot by Agatha Christie, but my favourite Sherlock Holmes novel is Hound of the Baskerville.

  14. says: Irene

Agatha Christie, of course, although I do also enjoy Kerry Greenwood’s Miss Fisher and the Inspector Chen saga by Qiu Xiaolong.

  15. says: Lydia Houghton

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle – I’ve just finished reading all the short stories… again!

    I love them! x

  16. says: Anita

I like the Sherlock Holmes books, Hound of the Baskervilles is my favourite but I can only read them in the daytime!
