Spring is on its way!
The sky might still be a little grey right now, and I’m still in my big winter coat, but there have been glimpses of blue skies and daffodils and I am totally ready to start planning for spring and even *whispers* Summer.
I’ve been pinning a few things to my outfit inspiration Pinterest board, determined not to get into the same sorry state with my spring wardrobe as I have over winter. One of the things I like about using Pinterest boards for this sort of thing is that you can start to spot little themes in the things you pin. I seem to pin a lot of spots, checks and stripes, often mixed with blocked colours. I pin a lot of full skirts, both longer and shorter, and recently I noticed I was pinning a few of 60s style beehive hair dos, in the poofy messy sort of style.
The other thing I found in my hunt for inspiration, is the Lena Hoschek Spring Summer 2014 lookbook. Lena Hoschek is one of my absolute favourite designers, she does mid century with a modern twist so well, and going to her collections is often a source of inspiration. For Spring and Summer 2014 she has created some beautiful candy coloured images with a late 50s early 60s feel. Pretty sun dresses and beehive hair with sunglasses and attitude. I already play around with a beehive occasionally, but I definitely feel some more experimentation in my near spring time future.
Today I thought I’d share some of the photos from the Lena Hoschek spring summer 2014 lookbook, and we can all dream ofย warmer days and having an amazing summer wardrobe. Caution, there are a lot, I have no ability to edit when it comes to Lena Hoschek……
Ooo, wonder if I could get my hair into a beehive.
I should think so! I can get mine into one and it’s short, just leave bits down if it’s too long?

Such prettiness!!!!
Do you know if you can get Lena Hoscheck in any UK stores?? I am a bit wary about buying from Europe as shipping costs etc, never worn her stuff before so not sure about sizing either. And the prices are high so I think I’d want to try stuff on first!!
Lovely lookbook though, she nails it everytime in my opinion! Would love to get my hands on one of those 1940’s silk style dresses from A/W a few years back.

I know what you mean. No, I don’t know of any UK stockists, when I first found her she didn’t even have an online shop. I will investigate later and see if I can find anywhere!

Oh dear Gemma any self control I had over buying new clothes has gone out the window! I want the all (except the green because it doesn’t suit me). Lyn Pope I am also inspired to try a beehive after seeing this tutorial http://www.rocknrollbride.com/2011/07/how-to-create-a-1960s-inspired-beehive-hair-style/ that made it look like even I with the ability to mess up a ponytail, could achieve it
(please ignore the fact it is a wedding blog it doesn’t mean anything I just like it)
Beehives are dead easy really, if you can’t get it high enough just hack up one of those doughnuts and hide it underneath ๐
I love these dresses!! Have picked up some amazing pattern pieces from a haberdashery closing down sale in the midlands, may Have a bash at making some. If successful I will be winging one over for you ๐ x
Oooh, aren’t you a clever sewing bunny! That would be awesome ๐
I want all these things! And the hair is just perfect.

Wow,hadn’t hurd of Lena Hoschek, but it’s spooky,I have just changed a dress pattern to tie at the shoulder and it looks similar to the ones she makes.mayhaps a beehive is in order to wear with it ๐ (Thank you for posting, very inspired to finish dress now x )
You’ve chosen some gorgeous Spring photos. I love the colours this season, pastels and light shades. Love the gingham dress, I’d definitely wear one.
AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
