All the way back in February I fell in love with prints of Animals.
I never did get that bunny print Monsoon cardigan, it was just too much money, but I still harbour a soft spot for clothes with animals on.
Well, patience is most definitely a virtue, because walking round a Charity Shop in Aberdeenshire I spotted a cardigan. It nestled on the racks looking like a dull old grey short sleeve cardigan, till I riffled past it’s next door neighbour and spotted….. FLAMINGOS!
At the bargain price of £2.99 I had to have it, even though it was technically 2 sizes too big for me.
There was no way I was letting it go, but I was struggling to make it work as it was just too big to be worn properly as a cardigan (plus I struggle with short sleeve cardigans anyway, pointless). Then this weekend I tried tucking it in, like a knitted blouse, and I think it worked.

I accessorised my pink flamingos simply with bright pink lipstick and simple hair, I also quite like the way the grey in the shoes picks up the grey cardigan. Gosh, I’m just so co ordinated.
The skirt is another Charity shop bargain, with cute box pleats at the front it’s likely to be one of my autumn staples.
You will note that I am on one of monthly contact lens breaks, and hence am confined to glasses in this picture. Pencil Skirt and glasses makes me feel a but Miss Moneypenny, hence the pose.

On holiday in the states I found one with a fabulous hula girl print on, I really really wanted it but it was super expensive so I talked myself out of it, I still regret it now!

I am OBSESSED with animal print clothes. I’m currently coveting a cardigan in River Island that has horses all over it.

Ah, tucking it in was a nifty trick! Love quirky prints of any kind, the flamingos are brilliant 🙂
When I go to Wisconsin , I stock up on cottons because , besides being fantastic quality , they have so many prints featuring huskies , deer , ducks , turkeys etc.
I stockpile them and use them inside my handbags.More than once , the lining has been the final deciding factor when they decide to buy. Then I miss the print!!

Do you realise you can take cardigans in? You can run up the side seams like you would any other garment. If you need to trim the fabric it is best if they are also overlocked/serged to seal the seam.
I have two hand knitted numbers that I carefully put through the sewing machine but did not cut (so you have a reasonable tuck of fabric on the inside) and they are very wearable.
I don’t know if I’d trust myself though!

I LOVE animal prints and normally think of them in terms of leopards and zebras. Your flamingos put a nice spin on the theme-and in my favourite hue as well!
I totally get the animal print fascination. The tuck worked, you wouldn’t know it was too big!
